
What is the function of Fiber?
In actuality, we all need a lot of fiber in our food, but because of the consumption of a lot of processed foods where the fiber is taken out, it's very difficult to form the bulk. And the stool is formed where there is bulk, which is fiber. Therefore the consumption of fiber is really a must, every day.
If I take Fiber every day, could it be habit forming?
No, fiber should be taken every day, it's part of life. The only reason we have to take fiber as a supplement is because our lack of consumption of real fiber. If your diet has enough fiber in it, you don't really need to take supplemental fiber.
With Fiber, why is it recommended to drink more water?
Generally, when you take fiber, it swells up in the system. So if you do not have enough water, then it will become very solid. Lack of water will make the fiber cause more constipation rather than helping it. The purpose of fiber is to form the bulk with the waste. It rolls around the waste and gives it a solid form. So we have to utilize it in that manner such that it is helpful rather than detrimental. Therefore, drinking of water is a must with fiber.
How much should be taken?
This depends, again, on your digestive health. As I mentioned earlier, somebody who is completely on processed food is getting zero fiber. Somebody who is eating greens and a lot of regular natural fiber needs less of it. Should it be taken with or without food?
You can always consume fiber thirty minutes prior to food. One of the benefits of the fiber is if you are struggling with obesity or have extra fat or you want to lose weight, then consumption of fiber helps you feel full. It makes the bulk and helps to cleanse the toxins out and at the same time it fills you and filling means you'll be eating less food. This is a total new chapter as to what you eat and how you eat and all that, but it helps to fill the stomach so therefore your desire for food automatically goes down.
Is the Fiber distasteful?
Not really, it is fairly decent in taste. If you'd like to sweeten the taste, you can add agave syrup or maple syrup or something to give some sweetening to it. But other than that, it's fairly good to drink. Even a child can drink it.
How much should be added per glass of water?
Generally one tablespoon per 8 ounces or 10 ounces of water is good. After that, it's recommended that you drink one glass of regular water.
